    • Match Report The Dunes - 21 May 2019

    • A good field of 75 players enjoyed overcast but otherwise fine conditions for our event at The Dunes today. The use of compulsory carts at The Dunes for all players proved popular as there would otherwise be long walks to some of the “shot gun” tees. The course was presented in excellent condition and good greens. Today 53 golf balls were presented to players who had 30 or more points.

The Dunes holes are played through and over rolling sand dunes on what is known as the “Cups Country” of the Mornington Peninsula. The Dunes is one of Australia’s premier public access courses and rated as the number one public access course in Victoria, and as high as number four in the country.    Our member guests today were Neil Aubert from Settlers Run, Norayr Gochian from Yering Meadows, Robert Holcombe from Camberwell, Ross Parks from Northcote and Raymond Shrimpton from Rosebud Country Club. New members playing their first game with us today were Tony Jones from Waterford Valley and Stuart Webb from Peninsula Kingswood.

Lucky card draws – rounds of golf for four donated by The Dunes were won by Ken Taylor, Don Mullen and Paul Davies.
