  5.        Members not wishing to compete for the Championship can play stableford and be eligible for the daily competition (A & B Grades).

COMPETITION FORMAT

  1. This is a Gross Scratch, stroke competition to be played over two (2) rounds each of 18 holes, on the dates listed in the current year Programme of Events.
  2. To aid the pace of play two local rules will be available to players for both of the two championship stroke rounds only.

    a. If a player has not played a provisional ball and the ball is deemed lost, the player may place a ball on the edge of the fairway closest to where the lost ball was deemed to have entered the rough, take a 2 stroke penalty and continue to play or the player may elect to record a score of 10 for that hole and continue to play in the stroke event.

    b. If a player has taken 10 strokes for any one hole the player must stop further play on that hole and record a score of 10 for that hole.

  3.       After Round 1, the field will be cut. Only the top 8 players and ties will advance to the Final Round.
  4.       These players will be guaranteed a place on the time sheet for the Final round and will be grouped together using a seeded draw.
  5.       After the Final round, the player with the lowest two round totals will be declared the winner.
  6.       In the event of a tie occurring, the winner will be decided by count-back with the Golf Australia approved system being used.
  7.       If for any reason, either round is cancelled before all competitors have completed that round, the MDVGA Match Committee will either decide to reschedule the cancelled round to another day or reduce the Championship to an 18 hole competition.
  8.       Any disputes will be decided by the MDVGA Match Committee whose decision will be final.
